The differences between jaw crusher and hammer crusher mainly include working principle, applicable materials, input and output particle size, etc. The specific differences are as follows
Different working principles
The main crushing component of jaw crusher is the relative movement of two jaw plates (moving jaw and static jaw) to crush materials, simulating the movement of two jaws of animals, applying multiple crushing forces to the materials, making the materials smaller until they meet the requirements and then discharged, completing the crushing. It is suitable for crushing various soft and hard materials, such as granite, quartz stone, etc. The main crushing component of hammer crusher is hammer head. Relying on the high-speed rotating rotor to drive the hammer head to continuously hit and shear the materials, so as to achieve the purpose of crushing materials. It is suitable for crushing metals with low hardness, such as scrap aluminum, scrap copper, oil filter, etc.
Different applicable materials
The jaw crusher has a wider range of applications in terms of applicable materials, and is suitable for crushing various materials with a compressive strength not exceeding 350MPa. Hammer crusher is mainly suitable for crushing materials with a compressive strength not exceeding 200MPa and materials with a moisture content of less than 15%.
Different feeding and discharging particle sizes
The main characteristics of jaw crusher products in feeding and discharging are that the feeding particle size range is between 125-1200mm, and the discharging particle size range is between 10-300mm. It is mainly used for coarse crushing of materials. The characteristics of hammer crusher products in feeding and discharging particle size are that the feeding particle size cannot exceed 1200mm, and the discharging particle size range is between 10-90mm.
Jaw crusher and heavy hammer crusher are both commonly used equipment in sand and gravel aggregate production lines. They have simple structures and are easy to use. So how to use these two crushers?
Look at the hardness of the material: For large hard rock crushing, choose a jaw crusher. For large medium-hard stone crushing, choose a jaw crusher or a heavy hammer crusher.
Look at the finished product requirements: Jaw crusher is usually combined with impact crusher, sand making machine, etc. to form a set of sand and gravel production line. Therefore, if the finished product requirements are high, use a jaw crusher, and if the finished product quality requirements are average, consider a heavy hammer crusher.
